Fios are featured in ‘Addressing Global Challenges‘, a programme created by the Royal Society of Biology in partnership with ITN Productions as part of Biology Week 2018. The full programme was launched at the Annual Awards Ceremony for the Royal Society of Biology on October 11th.

Our Chairman, Alan Johnson, CEO, Dr Sarah Lynagh, and Head of Research and Development, Dr Dan Halligan, were interviewed as part of our section of the hour-long programme – showcasing our role as a bioinformatics solutions provider. ‘Addressing Global Challenges’ aims to highlight how the life sciences sector relates to worldwide challenges, and the programme features key industry interviews and news-style reports along with sponsored editorial profiles. National newsreader, Natasha Kaplinksy, introduces the programme which is divided into two parts covering different topic areas.

‘Addressing Global Challenges’

As part of the programme, Fios are joined by a range of different organisations, such as the Universities of the West of England and Manchester, to show how different companies are tackling global issues in their area of expertise.

In bioinformatics, the amount of data in different forms being created poses a global challenge for analysis. Being able to extract meaningful information from complex datasets requires high-level expertise – which Fios is able to share with clients.
